Launch failure is a five channel video piece featuring found footage of a failed Saturn I rocket launch from the early 1960’s. Obsolete CRT televisions, stacked to vaguely resemble the shape of a rocket on its launch pad, are reminiscent of the shifting technology of both what is onscreen as well as the screen itself. Propelling skyward while shifting from display to display before reaching it’s explosive apex, the rocket transcends the awkward physicality of this outdated technology, reminding us that failure is often a necessary part of progress.
